Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler!
I won't lie ... I have had a bad, bad, bad case of Spring Fever these past few weeks. After making it through a brutal winter, getting adjusted to an early time-change, and experiencing a few "teaser days" of over-40-degree weather, I am ready to bust out! I find myself daydreaming about hosting parties outdoors, attending outdoor concerts, taking long bike rides and watching the sun set (yes, I do that!). Spring? I'll take two scoops, please.
There is no better time than Spring - the season of renewal - to make a change, especially when this Spring season brings the New York Tabletop Market, the Spring High Point Market, and the HD Expo. There is SO much going on this season and we're happily delivering it right to you. Our coverage of the New York Tabletop Market not only highlights the happenings at 41 Madison Avenue, 7 W New York and 230 Fifth Avenue, it also showcases a sampling of the essentials for the modern table. As you'll see, dining and entertaining at home is no longer a paper plate affair; it's a chance to properly embrace friends and family ... casually and stylishly.
Are you ready? The Big One is coming ... High Point! Our expanded coverage begins on page 16 - and as meaty as it is, it's just a taste of what's to come. Match Market's extensive programming with the current nudge toward economic recovery and the inspiring new trends in furniture and decor design, and BOY are we in for an experience.
Meanwhile, organizers of the HD Expo have done a little change and enhanced this year's program to reflect contemporary landscapes. As our feature shows, more focus areas, more specialty insight from leading figures within the industry, and more opportunities for exhibitors and attendees alike will make for a memorable purchasing, learning and networking experience. What else is new this Spring? HomeFashion is "flipping" with its sister publication, Giftware News, starting with this issue.
What's all this about? It's about keeping up with today's landscape. We've found so many retailers and designers are into more than one thing (and who isn't these days). Designers may be looking for gift items, hospitality professionals may be looking for amenities for their projects, and specialty retailers are probably looking for it all. You will still, however, continue to receive HomeFashion's signature style, in-depth coverage and unique presentation. To our newly adopted audience, "Welcome!" To our established readership, "Welcome Back!" With so much going on and so much yet to come, do you see why I'm happy-happy about the arrival of Spring?
